CJC-1295 without DAC is a 29-residue peptide, the sequence Tyr-D-Ala-Asp-Ala-Ile-Phe-Thr-Gln-Ser-Tyr-Arg-Lys-Val-Leu-Ala-Gln-Leu-Ser-Ala-Arg-Lys-Leu-Leu-Gln-Asp-Ile-Leu-Ser-Arg-NH2. It is an analogue of the first 29 residues of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, which is the fragment that carries the hormone's receptor activity, and it is also catalogued as modified GRF 1-29.

The substitutions from the natural sequence, including the D-alanine at position 2, are described in the literature as protecting the peptide from cleavage by dipeptidyl peptidase-4, the enzyme that rapidly degrades native GHRH. CAS 863288-34-0, formula C152H252N44O42, molar mass 3367.95 g/mol.

The name matters. DAC stands for Drug Affinity Complex, a maleimide group added in the full CJC-1295 molecule so it binds circulating albumin and persists far longer. This material is the version WITHOUT that group, which is a different molecule with a different mass. Check the CAS number rather than the name when comparing suppliers.

Modified GRF 1-29 appears in endocrinology literature as a GHRH receptor agonist and is commonly used as the short-acting comparator against the albumin-binding DAC version.

Published studies have reported growth hormone release in animal and pituitary cell models, and the DPP-4 resistance conferred by the position-2 substitution has been characterised in stability assays.
