BPC-157, TB-500 and the FDA's New Peptide Policy: What It Means in Canada (October 2026)
Last updated: October 28, 2026.
Short answer: The White House finished reviewing the FDA's "Interim Access Policy for Compounding Using Certain Peptides" on October 27, 2026. Once the FDA publishes it, US compounding pharmacies will be able to make certain peptides on prescription, and press reports name BPC-157 among them. Nothing changes in Canada: BPC-157 and TB-500 are not approved by Health Canada, and Kits Peptides keeps selling them as laboratory research reagents at the same prices, shipped from Vancouver.
Key facts
- What happened: the FDA sent its peptide compounding policy to the White House on October 14, 2026, and the review concluded on October 27 "consistent with change" (reginfo.gov, RIN 0910-ZD94).
- What it does: lets US 503A compounding pharmacies make certain peptides on prescription while the FDA's formal decisions are pending. It is not a drug approval.
- Which peptides: the FDA has not published the list. Its advisers recommended BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax in July 2026.
- Canada: the policy is American and changes nothing here. BPC-157 and TB-500 have no Health Canada approval and no DIN.
- Prices at Kits Peptides: unchanged. BPC-157 10mg is CA$49.99 and TB-500 5mg is CA$47.99, down to CA$39.99 and CA$37.99 a vial at five or more.

What "cleared White House review" means
Significant FDA policies go to the White House's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) before they are published. OIRA closed its review of this one on October 27, 2026 with the note "consistent with change", which means it cleared with edits. Publication by the FDA is the next and last step, and the FDA has not given a date.
The policy is an interim measure. It reportedly lets the FDA hold off enforcement against 503A pharmacies that compound the listed peptides on prescription while it makes its formal decisions. It does not approve BPC-157 or any other peptide as a drug.
Which peptides could be covered
In July 2026 an FDA advisory committee voted on seven peptides for the list of bulk substances that 503A pharmacies may compound, and recommended six: BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax. Press reports have named BPC-157 as covered by the interim policy. The FDA has not confirmed the list. Retatrutide is not among them: see retatrutide vs Ozempic for that story.
What BPC-157 and TB-500 are
- BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids, based on a sequence from a protein found in gastric juice. Published rodent studies reported effects in tendon and gastrointestinal injury models. No controlled human trial has established those effects, and BPC-157 is not approved by Health Canada.
- TB-500 is a synthetic peptide modelled on the active region of thymosin beta-4, a protein involved in cell movement. Published animal studies investigated it in tissue injury models. No controlled human trial has established those effects, and TB-500 is not approved by Health Canada.

Is BPC-157 legal in Canada?
BPC-157 is not approved by Health Canada and has no DIN, so it cannot be sold in Canada as a drug or a natural health product. Kits Peptides supplies it as a laboratory research reagent, for research use only and not for human use.
Did the FDA approve BPC-157?
No. The interim policy would let US compounding pharmacies make BPC-157 on prescription without FDA enforcement while formal decisions are pending. BPC-157 is still not an approved drug in the US or in Canada.
When will the FDA publish the peptide policy?
The White House review concluded on October 27, 2026. The FDA has not announced a publication date.
Will BPC-157 get more expensive in Canada?
Not at Kits Peptides. We are keeping our prices where they are: BPC-157 10mg is CA$49.99 and TB-500 5mg is CA$47.99.
Where can I buy BPC-157 and TB-500 in Canada?
Kits Peptides, in Kitsilano, Vancouver, supplies BPC-157, TB-500 and the BPC-157 + TB-500 blend as laboratory reagents for research use only. Orders ship tracked across Canada and same day in Metro Vancouver.
