Buying Research Peptides in Canada: What to Actually Check

Sourcing research peptides in Canada comes down to three checks: real per-lot testing, domestic fulfillment, and a supplier that treats the research-use-only line seriously. Price matters less than people think. A cheap vial with no certificate is not a deal, it is a guess.

This is the checklist we would use ourselves, and most of it applies to any supplier, not just us.

Start with the certificate, not the price

Ask one question before anything else: can I see the lab report for the exact lot I am buying?

Not a generic "99% pure" badge. Not a certificate from last year. A per-lot report from an independent lab, with a chromatogram you can look at and an identity test, ideally mass spectrometry, confirming the molecule is what the label says. If a store cannot produce a lot-specific certificate, that tells you everything you need to know about what else they skip.

Domestic or offshore

A lot of the stores marketing to Canadians ship from overseas. The web address is often the giveaway. That model can work, but you should know what you are accepting: parcels that cross the border can sit in customs, arrive late, or not arrive at all, and when something goes wrong your recourse is an email address in another jurisdiction.

Domestic fulfillment is simpler. A parcel mailed in Vancouver clears no border on its way to Calgary. Ours go out tracked through Canada Post, and an order confirmed before 1pm Pacific usually leaves the same business day.

What reasonable shipping looks like

Numbers you can sanity-check a supplier against, ours as the example:

• BC: 1 to 3 business days
• Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba: 2 to 5
• Ontario and Quebec: 3 to 6
• Atlantic Canada: 4 to 8
• The territories: 5 to 10

Tracked shipping is CA$20.99 to CA$34.99 depending on zone, free over CA$300, and orders over CA$400 need a signature. Plain packaging is standard practice in this category, and any serious supplier does the same.

The pattern to notice: a store that quotes "2 days anywhere in Canada" from an overseas warehouse is not being straight with you.

Payment methods tell you something

Canadian research-compound suppliers mostly take Interac e-Transfer and cryptocurrency. That is normal for the category, so a store without a big-brand card checkout is not automatically suspect. What you want is process quality: clear payment instructions, an order reference system, and confirmation when payment lands. Sloppy payment handling and sloppy lab handling tend to travel together.

The research-use-only line

Everything in this category is sold as a laboratory reagent for research use only, not for human or veterinary use. In Canada these compounds are not approved as drugs and carry no DIN.

Here is the counterintuitive part: a supplier that talks openly about that status is the safer bet. A store that publishes usage advice is a store that ignores rules when convenient, and you should assume it ignores them in the lab paperwork too. Expect an age gate (19+ in BC), a research-use attestation at checkout, and product pages that stick to identity data: CAS numbers, sequence, storage, certificates.

The checklist
